Please do read the reviews Heavenly Escape consistently receives from guests. As far as Halls Gap accommodation reviews go, these are the honest words of people who have actually stayed and enjoyed Heavenly Escape, a far more objective perspective than my own. This said, I readily confess that I myself  love staying at and working on Heavenly Escape and I take real pleasure and pride in making it creative, a little quirky, a bit different, and something I think is genuinely special. “Magical”, some guests have said. It is an ongoing work in progress which I undertake myself, and consequently it makes me very happy to see, or hear, that guests enjoy their time at ‘Escape’.

What guests say in our Halls Gap accommodation reviews

Reading through the reviews, there are recognisable threads seen throughout the ten years that I have owned and managed Heavenly Escape. Many appreciate the proximity to wildlife. It is literally on the doorstep, or the balcony: wake up to kangaroos on the grass out the windows and cockatoos, rosellas, kookaburras and the occasional emu at breakfast, watched from the deck among the gum trees. Then there is the personalised creative and artistic element, including my own professional work as a photographer, which sets it aside from other sometimes very modern but also sometimes generic alternatives. And then the ambience: secluded and quiet, tranquil, peaceful, relaxing, off the grid (a little), yet a ten-minute walk into town. It’s not hard to take time out, slow down, enjoy the spa, the fire, a book in the egg chair, cook and drink a decent coffee at ‘home’. I like to leave guests to themselves with a minimum of fuss, but for those who prefer more communication, I have no problem chatting, and providing tips for enjoying time in the Grampians.

I recognise that we all value our time off immensely: it can be a rare commodity, and I am genuinely happy when guests enjoy theirs here. If the reviews below resonate and you want to know more, have a look through the gallery, or check the dates and book direct or feel free to be in touch. To everyone who has stayed: it has been a pleasure, and thank you for your kind words about A Heavenly Escape. Cheers, Timothy (owner-manager and photographer)
